Client: K Phillips

Consulting Engineer: IGES

Location: Warwick

Remediation Value: £220,000

Project: Remediation of car showroom and former petrol station to include removal of six underground storage tanks, associated hydrocarbon impacted soils and product skimming of LNAPL free product - principally diesel. Excavation identified sixteen underground storage tanks. However the main challenge Churngold identified was an off site plume of contaminated groundwater entering the site that in the long term would re-contaminate the remediated site. With regard to the off-site plume that crossed onto the site Churngold proposed the installation of a Corus Hydrobarrier that would prevent ingress of contaminated groundwater onto the site and hence negate any long term liabilities for the client.
