Rhigos Extension to Existing Substation

Rhigos is an extension to the East of the existing substation to increase its capacity to take power from the wind turbines in the surrounding mountains, also it will eventually take power from a biomass facility being built down the road.

National Grid are the client, and we are working for Morrison Energy Services.  Value of the contract for us currently stands at £1,150,000, we are carrying out a cut and fill exercise to form the pile mat, a natural spring diversion, various other bits of drainage.  Post piling, we will then be importing 10,000m? of quarried material to form the load transfer plateau’s with an integral geogrid system for them to build the sub-station off.
