Churngold Construction announces new charity partnership to support Bristol communities
Churngold Construction has announced two new charity partnerships aimed at tackling social challenges and supporting young people in Avonmouth and the wider Bristol area.
The business is joining forces with Space4Makers and Spear Bristol, two organisations delivering life-changing programmes that help reduce isolation, improve mental health, and empower young people with the skills and confidence to succeed.
St Andrew’s Church, which sits at the centre of community life in Avonmouth, already runs a range of vital services and the addition of Space4Makers to this ecosystem has created a dedicated hub for creativity, skill-building, and social connection.
Space4Makers helps to reduce isolation, improve mental wellbeing, and inspire young people through practical workshops. It offers opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect with others, all while nurturing a sense of belonging and community.
Churngold is also backing Spear Bristol, a programme that equips young people with the mindset and skills needed to secure work and thrive in their roles. The programme helps trainees unlock their potential, no matter what barriers to employment they may face, providing tailored coaching and long-term support.
By supporting Spear, Churngold is investing directly in the next generation of talent from the local area, helping to create pathways to sustainable employment and stronger futures.
James Rivers, Operations, Health and Safety Director at Churngold Construction, commented:
“These partnerships reflect our belief that businesses have a responsibility to support the communities where we live and work. Both Space4Makers and Spear share our vision of inspiring young people, developing their skills, and growing their confidence, all with a focus on people from the local community. By working together, we can help provide opportunities that change lives and strengthen Avonmouth for the future.”
Churngold is encouraging other businesses across Avonmouth and the wider Bristol area to join them in supporting these initiatives. Both Space4Makers and Spear rely on ongoing financial support and collaboration to continue delivering their vital services. Together, with the backing of local employers, these organisations can expand their reach and make an even greater impact in the community.
