Churngold successfully managed
Constructing a road on a flood plain during the winter months, bordered on all sides by ditches and rivers.
Road constructed to the adoptable standard including a CBR of 30%+ from an original CBR of 0% using a specialist Tensar design geotextile.
The site had a sensitive eco system and ecology, which included a protected water vole species.
The local residents were opposed to the project but came to appreciate Churngold’s considerate approach which allowed a good relationship with the residents to be developed which will no doubt benefit any future works.
The original tight programme meant Wainhomes chose Churngold to help and assist them on this project due to Churngold proactive approach in overcoming delays in design sign off and approval. This included Churngold suggesting alternative design proposals to overcome both technical and programme issues.
