This month's Gang of the Month goes to Ashley Mack, Ayden Edwards and Benjamin Distin for their alertness and quick thinking after uncovering a 1940s high-explosive mortar round while excavating the car park.

The excavator operators spotted the mortar around 200mm below the surface and immediately stopped work and reported it to Jimmy Shaw, Site Manager. Jimmy raised the explosive with Kier, and the Marine Camp put a 400-metre exclusion zone in place until the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived and safely removed it from site.

Thanks to the gang's awareness and the right actions taken, a potentially serious incident was avoided and no one was hurt. Well done, lads.
