Churngold Construction has operated from Bristol since 1983, building a reputation as one of the South West’s most experienced specialist contractors. Our Bristol headquarters at Avonmouth is the operational base for the majority of our project delivery, housing our senior management team, commercial function and the largest share of our 155-strong workforce.

What we deliver from Bristol

Our Bristol operation covers every stage of site preparation and below-ground construction. That includes foundations and substructure works, drainage and ducting, reinforced concrete structures, bulk excavation, cut and fill earthworks, site clearance, utility diversions and full enabling works packages. We also deliver Section 278 highway works directly and coordinate ground investigation through our supply chain as part of enabling works scopes.

Where contaminated or previously developed land is involved, our remediation division operates nationally from Bristol. Churngold is one of the leading providers of steam enhanced remediation in Europe and has completed some of the largest chemical oxidation projects on the continent.

All excavation projects benefit from GPS-guided plant and 3D machine control as standard, and our temporary works follow BS 5975 procedures throughout.

Projects delivered from Bristol

Bristol is where landmark Churngold projects are managed and resourced. Recent and current work includes Temple Island, one of the largest urban regeneration schemes in the South West, and VSSP Ashchurch, where we secured the enabling, remediation, groundworks, internal reinforced concrete slabs, external works and site infrastructure packages.

Our Bristol teams also delivered the remediation, earthworks and groundworks at Exmouth Junction, a 64-unit apartment block.
